What is a tiny house ?

It's a little house made out of timber, built on a trailor.
A very soft and cosy environment where simple decoration makes it an atypical resting spot. An american designer called Jay Shafer started this concept in 1999. As a consequence of hurricane Katrina in 2005, and the crisis in 2008, the popularity of the concept keeps getting bigger and bigger.

Providing excellent comfort at a low cost, these little homes quickly addressed the lodging crisis taking place in the USA.
In France, the first tiny house was built in 2013. Since then, numerous manufacturers started their activity and more and more French people found an interest in this trendy, environmentally friendly and minimalist lifestyle.

Our project
This idea popped up quite a while ago. Today, our project has come true. Our tiny house is here!
We had been searching for manufacturers for quite a long time in France but also abroad. We ended up choosing a company building high-quality houses…30 km away from us! (www.lartiny.com)

After a few meetings, our needs were quickly identified. The design and equipments of the house were defined and the manufacturing could start. We were quite astonished when we saw the house during the assembly. The main structure of the house was already built, sitting on the trailor and the walls made out of red cedar gave an elegant touch.

A few weeks later, it was D-day and time for its delivery at home. People were not indifferent towards the big size of the tiny house arriving, hooked up behind the van. Then came the time to get the house onto the property and to place it at its final spot among the trees. Indeed, the intention was to get it to fit the best within its surroundings. To everyone's greatest satisfaction, the skilled team completed the installation after only a few hours without any issues.
We then arranged the outdoor space with a wooden deck surrounding the house. A parking lot was also built, the external wall along the street was renovated and trees planted along the terrace. Finally, we added our own finishing touches with little elements of decoration within the house.

And with that, we were all set! We are now happy to do our best to provide our guests a comfy place!

Here are several pictures illustrating the whole set-up process...
